Sami's Hot Dog Cart: Experience the Best Hot Dogs in DC

My brother and I recently discovered this cart, and I’m so glad we did! The owner, Sami, was an absolute gem - so welcoming and friendly, he truly made my birthday celebration unforgettable. Not only did he take the time to chat with us, but the hot dogs were phenomenal. The perfect balance of flavors, and you can tell they’re made with care. I love hot dogs and I came to this hot dog stand because of all the glowing reviews, which are well-deserved. Delicious. My boyfriend got a chili hot dog with jalapeños. I got a spicy hot dog with raw onions, ketchup, mustard, & fried potato crisps. Perfecto! I enjoyed my hot dog so much that I came back the next day to try the chili hot dog. Prices are reasonable, & Sami is friendly & humble. The hot dog stand is a block from the L'enfant metro station entrance (near the air & space museum).

I’d seen the reviews, I heard the hype, but even that doesn’t do it justice. I went to find Sami’s on my last day in DC and it was serendipitously his first day back after a hiatus due to all the crap weather and snow/ice. I got a spicy dog with mustard, chili, and cheese… OH. MY. GOD. Heaven truly is a place on earth. I just had lunch so I just wanted to stop so I could say I tried it, but after the first dog I had to go back for a second! I didn’t care how stuffed I was. Super nice guy, instantly connected with me on my Idaho connection, and was so happy to be doing what he was doing. Keep this man in business!!

If you like a good dog, and are looking for one in DC, this is the spot. Grabbed a chili cheese dog from Sami’s Hot Dog Cart and enjoyed in the park across the street that had a bunch of seating.

Tried Sami’s Hot Dog Cart and really enjoyed it. Service was quick, the person attending was friendly, and the hot dog was bigger than usual. Paid $8, which felt fair for the size and taste. Would definitely recommend it for a quick bite in DC!

Hands down the best hot dogs in DC. Highly recommend the chili cheese dog with jalapenos. Just wish I'd found it sooner. Sami is awesome and a DC legend.

Well located hot dog stand close to the train station and half a block away from competing food trucks. There isn't a menu with prices so there's a chance of over ordering. Order the spicy dog, its larger than the regular dog. Plenty of different toppings but the lack of menu doesn't give you nuch time to consider your options when the employees tell you what's available. You do get melted cheese, chile, onions, sauerkraut, cooked peppers, ketchup, mustard, mayo and others as options. I'd recommend for a quick snack with a few tables and chairs at the open lawn across the street. I may releat if I'm in the area and need something quick if hungry.

When in DC we had to come visit Samis Hot Dog cart. It was so cold with temperatures about -2 C but the hot food and hospitality of Sami made it really awesome. Sami was really patient with us and shared the menu and choices so we had a good idea of whaf we wanted. The kids first time in DC and they loved this. Awesome food, awesome man.
